The Elegant Christmas of 2020.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Traditions follow us everywhere. Sometimes we are raised with it and other times we make room for new ones. I have too created traditions just like any of us and my one absolute tradition is to enjoy holidays. I was excited about Christmas this year not only because I and my friends were playing Secret Santa with each other but also because I knew that it will mark the final days of the year 2020.

It is funny how one day can fill you up with hope, smile and absolute content. My weekend started with a cold morning and lots of hot chocolate on Christmas day. There is something about a cold morning and a hot beverage that reminds you of the serenity around us. Christmas wishes poured in from friends and family and gifts exchanged were making rounds on social networking sites which shrieked laughter from the photos (I could somehow hear them!).

I too had a small spread of gifts with my friends and we were excited like little children to tear the wrappers apart and find our gifts.

The speculations of 'who got who' and 'who got what' was driving us all crazy, but just like every group, we too have a Supreme Leader who kept us in line and prevented the mad gift unwrapping streak.

Surrounded by super artistic friends I found myself in possession of beautiful art and a heartfelt note in which my Secret Santa wrote a quote from my own blog. Now no need to be overwhelmed, she read 'the one' and found it the best. It was touching and I felt I am surrounded by the amazing people who care.

There were even surprise gifts that were exchanged between partners which left us all with round big eyes and Awwwwssss and variety of desserts that filled us with way more sugar than we needed or were allowed.

Since, the gifts were done we needed to put our party hats on, we did exactly that. It was time to go out for lunch.

Our destination turned out to be better than we had imagined and we found ourselves driving in the crowded and busiest streets towards the City palace Jaipur. We wanted authentic Rajasthani food and where else is better than Baradari restaurant of City Palace Jaipur.

The royal architecture combined with cozy setting felt like just the place to be on this weekend. The elegance and simplicity with good food made our day just the one we needed.

The decorations were singing festivities and the cool breeze on a sunny day felt like bliss.

The day ended with a short tour of city palace, I mean you can't come all the way here and not look around. But more on that next time.

If you guys are in city, go find yourselves a perfect place to hang out with your friends just like I did. It is time to enjoy your holidays.

P.S: Face masks were removed only for photographs.
