A predicted year.
The year of 2020 has been one of the most imaginable reality that this generation is experiencing. Whatever is happening around us has been thought of by human race. A pandemic that is going to shut the world down, political clashes which will tear countries apart, trade wars that create unmatched supply gaps, and everything and anything that we see around us today has been visualised by us.
We know it all and are still unprepared, worse, complacent. 21st century was the first time when humans could think beyond survival. Just when it seemed like it is all under control, it spiralled.
So what now? What does the future hold?
An A.I guided survival? An enclosed habitat? A guarded wall between humans and rest of the world? And if you could tap into your imagination then a different planet?
I see people on social networking platforms giving all kinds of advices. I understand the need to put your thoughts in words. What I don’t understand is why not one if them is about developing skills which can help us in our altering future reality.
And no I am not talking about only robotics. You see, to live a better future we need to learn our past. If any of you out there ever played a strategic game in your life you would know that resources needs produce and produce needs skills and skills need to be learnt.
I remember as a kid I always wanted to have a kitchen garden. Something about eating the vegetables you grow seemed fascinating to me. I even tried it with my family as a kid. Today, when I reflect back on this memory, I understand what time was trying to tell me. It is as if we are looking at a future of using home grown vegetables across the globe.
And let’s not even get into fuel, power supply and water resources. If solar energy and water harvesting sound new to you, you need to find it out as soon as possible.
While we sit in our comfortable homes, World is changing. We can sit and say all we want about being powerless and poor, nature might not agree with us.
It seems like a wake up call. It is as if something woke you up in middle of the night to tell you all is not lost, we can make it, there is still time.
Choosing to go back to sleep now might not be the wisest decision.
