A walk down the memory lane.

Past couple of days have been an incredible time for me. I got a rare chance of going back in time and reliving the moments I had cherished in my past. Whether it was hanging out with friends and their families or visiting the places which had deep roots in my life, it was all amazing. I was repeating the moments from past days in my head and it was then that I realised the  importance of these couple of days for me. I never wanted to relive my past days. I only wanted to go back to the old places to see for myself, one more time, that those days and moments which have had such strong impressions on my mind had actually occurred. They were really existing. I am not unhappy with my present. I have everything I wanted in my past. Visiting those places only made it more real.

I  don't think anyone wants to live the way they were doing in the past. The need for moving forward is so great that we hardly actually look behind. But one pause and a look around shows how much things have changed and remained the same. Like a time traveller from present to past and back again I feel this intensified wonder at the way our lives are working. Only a fraction of second and a moment's decision has changed our lives in completely different ways. And all that is remaining are those fragments of memory which have had strong impressions on us. Going back in time only confirmed that those memories are not our imagination. Those memories are live people and places with breathing soul and fire in them. The fire that helped us find our way to the future. And the soul which like the heat of that fire has kept us warm.

It was an incredible coincidence that I got the chance of living those moments at the end of the year. It was as if the passing year wanted to give me a last walk in the children's park.

A walk down the memory lane.
