The Elegant Christmas of 2020.

Image
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Traditions follow us everywhere. Sometimes we are raised with it and other times we make room for new ones. I have too created traditions just like any of us and my one absolute tradition is to enjoy holidays. I was excited about Christmas this year not only because I and my friends were playing Secret Santa with each other but also because I knew that it will mark the final days of the year 2020.  It is funny how one day can fill you up with hope, smile and absolute content. My weekend started with a cold morning and lots of hot chocolate on Christmas day. There is something about a cold morning and a hot beverage that reminds you of the serenity around us. Christmas wishes poured in from friends and family and gifts exchanged were making rounds on social networking sites which shrieked laughter from the photos (I could somehow hear them!). I too had a small spread of gifts with my friends and we were excited like little children to tear the wrappers apart and find our gift

There is no glory in death.

There is no glory in death. Nor happiness. The silent decay of the body is a testament of all the stories and secrets of a mind which dared to go on.  In its wake, touching and creating realities that intertwined with time to materialise a world around it. What was the story? What were the secrets? The laughter that died with time. The sorrow which was felt at the end. It all comes to this moment of passing. Leaving behind a legacy and moving on to a different journey. One can only wish farewell, suppressing the choke building a lump in your throat. The old ones are leaving and the young ones are not ready. Author: Stuti Sharma

Michelle Obama's Becoming.

Image
Inspiring, filled with hope, kindness and determination. Michelle Obama's Becoming will take you back and tell you a story that was happening in your own time. When you were busy studying, hunting a job, or chasing your love life, history was taking shape. It is an overwhelming feeling when you understand how much of the world you have not been a part of. The hardships of generations after generations, bond of a family, beloved memories of the departed and challenges of a becoming leader. The story of Michelle Obama has various flavors and it is not so different than any other person on this Earth. The only difference you will find in your own story and hers is that she did not stop. She did not stop believing in herself, she did not stop challenging the status quo and she did not stop when she was said and I quote from her book "not Princeton material". Turns out that she was not only a Princeton material, but of a Harvard and also of being a First lady. Michelle Obama i

A predicted year.

The year of 2020 has been one of the most imaginable reality that this generation is experiencing. Whatever is happening around us has been thought of by human race. A pandemic that is going to shut the world down, political clashes which will tear countries apart, trade wars that create unmatched supply gaps, and everything and anything that we see around us today has been visualised by us. We know it all and are still unprepared, worse, complacent. 21st century was the first time when humans could think beyond survival. Just when it seemed like it is all under control, it spiralled.  So what now? What does the future hold?  An A.I guided survival? An enclosed habitat? A guarded wall between humans and rest of the world? And if you could tap into your imagination then a different planet? I see people on social networking platforms giving all kinds of advices. I understand the need to put your thoughts in words. What I don’t understand is why not one if them is about developing skills

Lucknow travel diaries.

Love travelling?  We have just the place for your next visit. Camouflageoflife recently got an opportunity to visit the most culturally vibrant city of India, “Lucknow”. The rich history, mouth-watering food and colourful arts had us hooked throughout our tour all thanks to our generous hosts, ‘The Rastogi Family’. The Rastogis hail from Lucknow and like a pro they knew every nook, cranny, shop, food guy, where to find what, and how to reach where. It was like reading a personalized map to the city.  They welcomed us in their homes warmly and we could not have asked for better hosts. After stuffing our mouths with a lavish breakfast of makhan malai, puri and jalebis in the dining hall of their home we set out to explore. The city has so much to offer that it was a difficult decision where to start. So we did what we had to. We went shopping!!! The famous chikan work of Lucknow have attracted people from all over the world. The intricate designs with vibrant co

Memories.

There are a few memories which linger in your mind long after they were made. You just cannot shrug its presence and it’s a constant reminder of the moments spent. As much as holding onto it becomes necessary, loosing it becomes even more.  But its just there everywhere.  Then there comes a time when all is gone and a hollow remains which breathes vacant fumes. A known  and  forgotten feeling. It is like a womb missing its child... and hurts even if it gave you great joy at a time. You cannot help any of it, its not in your hands, and you tear under the remorse of it. But slowly, the pain eases and you walk out of a dream which once was.  Willingly or not you begin to make new memories. and it is all effortless. You do not even know when they started. The hollow ceases to be and all of it feels like a dream, both new and old. Such is the beauty of moments which hold strong bonds.  Such is the beauty of moments that become unforgettable. Such is the bea
